| To remove and replace the tumbler: #1 Once you've seperated the two sides.... Remove the screws highlighted in yellow. #2 The highlighted part is a ball bearing that sits on top of a small spring. Both will fall out if you're not careful and you don't want to lose them. Take them out and set them aside...but remember where they go. #3 Remove the slide with spring attached. Note the piece that receives the door handle sits below the slide in a certain way. #4 This picture is just highlighting the tumbler itself. Tap it from this side with a mallet or hammer...it will take a few whacks to get it to dislodge and slide out the other side. DON'T use anything to pry it out or you will damage the housing. #5 This shows the piece sliding out. There's a small piece (nub) that catches or secures the tumbler in place..... It doesn't move (or depress), so be patient....there's enough room for it to slide out. #6 This shows the cylinder out. All you have to do is reverse the order to put in the new cylinder. Getting the cylinder to disengage and slide out is the hardest part, but as long as you don't force it.....you should be fine. |
